Substance Abuse Evaluations
Caring Therapists of Broward offer a wide variety of substance abuse evaluations. If you have been court-ordered to have a substance abuse evaluation completed, our office can help you complete those requirements. We work with local Probation Officers to ensure that you meet the requirements. Our office is conveniently located in Pembroke Pines and we offer assessments to people in all of Florida. If you received a citation or have been arrested in another county, we can still complete your substance abuse evaluation for you. We work with people located in Pembroke Pines, Davie, Cooper City, Miramar, Hollywood, Plantation, Fort Lauderdale and all of South Florida.
We have evening and weekend hours available for those who need an evaluation completed after-hours.
We have Certified Addictions Professionals on our staff that are familiar with what to look for and assess. We will make you specific recommendations for follow-up and help to link any services that you may need.
If you decide to continue with counseling, we offer counseling and therapy services by Certified Addictions Professionals that can help you manage any drug and alcohol addictions. We offer short-term substance abuse treatment. Our treatment is always tailored to each individual client and will be based on your needs.
During the assessment, you will be interviewed by a Licensed Mental Health Professional. They will gather information about your history, your current life and your substance abuse history. They may provide you with a battery of assessments to complete in order to obtain a thorough and accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendation. A common assessment we use is called the SASSI, the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory. Our staff have found this assessment tool to be the most helpful in determining if follow-up services are needed.
Based on our findings, we have found that some people are not in need of any further substance abuse recommendations. We will provide you with information about our recommendations and what they mean for you.
Upon completion of the substance abuse evaluation, we will provide you with a copy of the report. If needed, we can send a confidential copy to your Probation Officer.
