Meet Paola Gomez Diaz,
Ph. D. Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern

I believe that therapy is a journey of healing and I’m here to accompany you in the process of self-discover and to embrace the possible. Each pain is real, and at any moment we can find ourselves struggling and hurting in situations that we didn’t see coming or that we don’t feel prepared to handle. Whether you have experienced deep suffering, whether you are healing from a life-altering event or are only just beginning to struggle and are in search of little adjustments in your life, I would love to help you to discover how to heal from the inside out and how to escape your own prisons and enjoy the full, rich feast of life.

My goal in therapy is to provide a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental environment that allows you to enhance your awareness and to gain the tools to find innovative and creative ways to choose freedom over failures and fears, freedom over anger and guilt, freedom over regret and unresolved grief.

Through my years of formation as a doctorate in clinical psychology I have worked with individuals, families, and groups of all ages, in both hospital and private practice settings.

My approach as a bilingual therapist (English/Spanish) involves traditional psychodynamic therapeutic styles blended with attachment based and dialectical behavior models to provide a therapeutic relationship that facilitate the accomplishment of your short and long term goals through a fulfilling life.  I also incorporate elements of mind-body and meditation to help you to listen to your body as your main source of signs to heal.

As one of my favorite authors said “I live to guide others to a position of empowerment in the face of all life’s hardships.” (Edith Eva Eger, 2017), and that is my vocation.

I’m a bilingual (English/Spanish) therapist with over 5 years of experience working with all ages (children, teens, young adults, adults and seniors) in both hospital and private practice settings around South America and USA. I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Puerto Rico with distinction, and throughout my years of formation I’ve experience treating mood disorder, personality disorders, trauma and behavioral issues.
