Meet Jean Englund, Pembroke Pines Counselor
Jean is currently a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern
Hello my name is Jean Englund, and I am a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern with an innate desire to help those in need. My passion for the healing profession began after taking my first psychology course at the University of Florida, and has only strengthened over the course of my life. I received my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, and upon graduation pursued my first professional endeavor as a case manager at Covenant House Florida, a shelter for homeless and runaway youth. I gained invaluable experience during my two years of service, and left to pursue my career as a licensed mental health counselor. I am currently working at Camelot Community Care providing in home family therapeutic services for at risk families.
I have found great joy working to strengthen familial ties and ensure healthier functioning families in our community. During my time as a family therapist I was presented with the incredible opportunity to join the private practice, Caring Therapists of Broward. Here I will continue flourishing as a clinician, strengthening my skills as a healer, and obtain licensure. Now that you know about my professional journey, I would like to share with you a little about myself. I am a native Floridian who thrives on Mother Nature, spiritual conquests, and furthering my understanding of the human condition. I am an open, honest, down to earth woman who genuinely strives to enhance the lives of those around me. I am thoroughly interested in Eastern healing modalities, physical health, and practicing yoga as a means of centering myself. I am a firm believer in the perseverance of the human spirit, and believe that regardless of what someone has endured in their life, there is always hope when healing is present. With hope, nothing is impossible.
During my time as a therapist I have learned that one of the greatest predictors of change is the therapeutic relationship, and for this reason I encourage you to search until you find the right individual for you. The therapeutic journey can be a difficult one to face, but with the right guide it can be life changing. As a therapist it is my goal to provide you with a safe therapeutic environment, free from judgment, and expectations. I appreciate you taking the time to read about my passion for helping others, and hope to meet you in the future.
